Dr Darren's "Manifesto": Drupal coding needs to (really) change !

Anybody who defends the prevailing and future use of Drupal structured arrays and the coding style of Drupal6 and Drupal7 (and still too much in Drupal8) and most of the contributed modules that depend on "by convention" structured arrays, is merely proving that they don't understand design patterns, and the power of true object-orientation. It is simply ignorant.

No excuses. It is not a problem with PHP in 2013, it is a problem with Drupal7 and Drupal8.

This site is dedicated to showing ways of improving Drupal, and especially contributed modules development, through true object-orientation. A good place to start to see what I consider to be the problem is Don't Repeat Yourself (DRY Principle) and Write Everything Twice (WET) (because "we enjoy typing"). The OOE = Object Oriented Examples = One Of Each module demonstrates strategies for improving contributed module development in Drupal.
